BASS FISHING ON LAKE TOHO AND
                 THE KISSIMMEE CHAIN

Lake Tohopekaliga or Lake Toho for short is the primary
lake for Florida Bass Adventures Guide Service. Lake Toho
offers year round trophy bass fishing and provides your best
chance to experience the catch of a lifetime! Located just
minutes from Disney World
Lake Toho is the Northern most
lake in the Kissimmee chain of Lakes which consists of 4
lakes: Lake Toho, Lake Cypress, Hatchineha and Lake
Kissimmee. Originally, part of the Kissimmee river system
that leads to Lake Okeechobee and further South, Lake Toho
has been known for it's trophy bass fishing for over 50 years!

With an abundance of both visible and submergent
vegetation and an average depth of only 6 - 7 feet, Lake
Toho offers a wide range of bass fishing techniques to hunt
big Florida Bass. Texas rigged plastic worms, spinnerbaits,
topwater baits, rattle traps, soft jerkbaits and shallow
running crankbaits can all produce quality numbers of bass.
Bass Fishing with Live wild shiners are an excellent choice
for those looking to use live bait to catch trophy bass as they
are native to the lake.

In a 2001 B.A.S.S. tournament on Lake Toho Professional
Bass Angler Dean Rojas established a new record for a 5
bass limit by bringing 45lbs 02 oz to the scales. That's a 9lb
average! Winning weights are routinely in the 18 to 25-pound
range. To date, the largest bass documented from the lake
weighed 17.10 pounds.

An extreme drawdown and habitat enhancement project
was conducted on lake Toho during spring 2004 to increase
bass fishing catch rates and enhance critical shoreline
habitat for fish and wildlife utilization.  In all, 8.4 million
yards of organic material, and associated vegetation that
was too thick to provide good fisheries habitat, was removed
from 3,506 acres of lake bottom. Subsequently, rainfall from
the rash of hurricanes during 2004 quickly re-filled the lake
to normal levels.

Florida Bass Adventures clients are experiencing the
benefits of the 2001 draw down as the results from guide
trips on Lake Toho have been phenominal! Native aquatic
plant growth has rebounded and as it continues to improve
will only add to the possibilities of catching trophy bass on
Lake Toho.

Lake Toho!
