BASS FISHING IN ORLANDO FLORIDA

Orlando Bass Guide Service reports are for West Lake Toho which is located in Central Florida just minutes from the theme parks. Lake Toho is a world famous trophy bass fishery that offers clients the best opportunity to catch big Florida Bass while on their vacation. All reports are the results from guide trips occurring on my boat and not information gathered from other fisherman or other guides.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report June 2009 - The bass fishing in Orlando has continued to be absolutely phenominal into the month of June. Clients are experiencing 30 - 40 fish days with multiple bass coming in over 6 lbs. The artificial bite is doing well but nowhere near what we are seeing happen with live bait right now. It's a great time to be fishing in Orlando with weather that is very enjoyable and a very good possibility of catching the biggest bass of your life! Here are photos from recent trips.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report May 2009 - The bass fishing on Lake Toho is absolutely off the hook. Today Brian Grady and his Father Dan caught 14 bass on a 4 hour trip including two 5's a 7 and the largest coming in at 7 1/2 pounds. One would expect the bass fishing to slow down as water temperatures are peaking at 85 degrees but that has not been the case. All bass were caught using live bait up to 8 inches in length.

Yesterday Huu from Chicago caught the largest bass of his life, an 8 1/2 pound monster from Lake Toho also using live bait. Most trips are averaging 15 bass per 4 hour trip and 20 on 6 hour trips. Each day we are getting at least one bass in the 6 - 7 pound range. Live bait is accounting for all big bass right now but with the recent rains the artificial bite should pick up soon. Early Summer is absolutely the best time of year for topwater lures so I am already getting excited.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report April 2009 - This month has started off extremely well with bass moving to their spring pattern which is primarily a feeding pattern here on Lake Toho. Schooling fish can be found throughout the lake making it possible to catch bass using live bait as well as artificial lures. Average size on live bait is bigger than what is being caught on artificial lures but quality is still good using lures. Average numbers being caught are 20-25 on live bait. The weather is great this time of year so if you would like to enjoy some great bass fishing book your trip now. Dates are still available for April and May.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report March 2009 - The Bass Fishing in Orlando for the month of March was absolutely off the hook! It is getting hard not to recommend this month as the best month to come to Florida for big bass but fortunately the big ones live here year round so catching the fish of a lifetime can happen any time during the year. Multiple ten pound bass were caught by Orlando Bass Guide clients on both live bait and artificial lures. Overall the top choice for catching trophy bass has been live bait as the average size of fish is much higher using live shiners.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report for February 2009
It's been a great month here in Orlando for bass fishing as our bass are spawning on all of our lakes. As is typical for February it has been cold and windy but this has been exactly what our bass needed to bring on a full blown spawning mode. Live bait and artificial lures are both producing quality bass for my clients but on the days when the wind has been blowing it has made it challenging for clients using artificial lures. The bigger bites have been more consistent using live bait so far. Our spawning season is much longer than what clients are used to up North so book your trip now to get in on this exciting time here in Orlando which may last until late April.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report for January 2009
I hope everyone had a great New Year. Regardless of what many will say, 2009 is going to be a phenomenal year so I hope you have started yours off with high expectations and lofty goals. The bass fishing for the month of January has been excellent so far. Some clients have been disappointed as the big ones haven't always made it in the boat but when bass are breaking off 17lb line it means they are huge fish and that can happen. It's hard to know what to do as a client when the bass you are trying to catch is ripping the rod out of your hands and that really is what makes catching big bass so challenging. The weather is very warm for this time of year so it is a great time to be on the water chasing big bass. Live bait is accounting for our bigger bass but the artificial bite is still doing well with bass being caught up to 6lbs.

If you are going to be in the Orlando Florida area now is a great time to book a trip. This is the time of year when I begin using a lot of my special techniques and tricks of the trade to entice big bass to bite which can be a lot of fun for clients to learn.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report for November & December-2008
Lake Toho - As Lake Toho is the primary lake for Florida Bass Adventures most trips for November and December were spent there. We have been experiencing colder than normal temperatures the last two months putting the bass in a transition period rather than a pre spawn stage. Currently clients are catching 20 bass per day on artificial lures using a wide assortment of baits in depths ranging from 2 to 8 feet. Live bait fishing is accounting for larger bass but numbers are fluctuating from one day to the next.

The Butler Chain - Bass fishing on this chain is doing very well. Water clarity is excellent throughout the chain with visibility up to 10 feet. All trips were done using artificial lures with catches up to 25 bass per day. Average bass being caught are in the 2-4 lb range in depths of 14 - 19 feet. The cooler temperatures actually benefit this chain of lakes as deeper water can be found on all lakes.

Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report for October 2008
The bass fishing is on fire for my clients here in Orlando with catches of up to 30 fish on 6 hour trips. The weather and water
temps are ahead of schedule and have turned the bass bite on here at Lake Toho. Starting early and being in the right place
at the right time is key for the best results. Live bait right now is producing good results but the artificial bite is actually a little
better with good numbers with quality being caught.

The great thing about the bass fishing in Orlando is that all of our lakes are fishing very well right now thanks to great weather

and cooler water temperatures. Lake Toho is still the best choice for where to fish as this lake offers clients the best chance
at a trophy bass and they are biting all over the lake right now. Spinnerbaits, rattletraps and crankbaits are the baits of choice
to target bass that are aggressively feeding on shad.

Orlando, Florida has been known as a top vacation destination for years thanks to Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World
and beautiful beaches. But what many vacationers are not aware of is the trophy bass fishing that lies within minutes of the
theme parks or how many trophy bass are caught each year in Orlando. The opportunity to experience trophy bass fishing is
literally just outside your doorstep wherever you are staying in the Orlando area. If you will be planning a bass fishing trip to
Orlando be sure to bring your camera along for the trip. Florida is known for its wildlife and on any day you can expect to see
alligators, Eagles, Ospreys or otters.

Central Florida Bass Fishing Report June-August 2008
We are in the midst of the Summer Season and the fishing on Lake Toho is doing very well. As expected the artificial bite has
picked up especially first thing in the morning and again in the evening with some exciting topwater action providing most of the
bass. Live bait is doing well also with catches anywhere from 10-20 during our 4 hour trips. But talk is cheap so here are some
pictures from recent trips. Will you be on my boat when
the big one bites?

April-May 2008 Orlando Bass Fishing Report for Lake Toho

The month of April was an interesting month here in Orlando as much like last year
we saw warmer weather for the first two weeks of the month and then cooler weather on
the last half of the month. The bass were definitely pushed out of there spawning mode
and probably quite confused with the up and down weather patterns for the month.
Fishing was still very productive with quality numbers being caught but females were few
and far between. The artificial bite has been picking up catching better numbers than live
bait with some excellent topwater activity adding to the excitement. May looks to be an
excellent month with water levels falling concentrating the fish much better.

March 2008 Orlando Florida Bass Fishing Report-

March was almost identical to the bass fishing we experienced last year here in Orlando Florida.
Phenominal bass fishing with many of my clients catching their biggest fish ever. Weather was
somewhat windy and we had plenty of cold fronts but not much slowed my fish down as you can
see from the photos below. Catches ranged from 10 to 30 bass per day with almost every client

boating one fish over 6lbs each day. Although not many local anglers believed our bass were
spawning my clients have been catching female bass since about November. I expect the spawning
trend to continue for at least another month and a half so if you are thinking of coming down for a
trip contact me for availability. The upcoming months are generally very good for throwing artificial

lures especially if you like seeing big bass slamming your bait on the surface!

January - February 2008 Central Florida Bass Fishing Report-

I thought it would be a good idea to update those interested on how  the bass fishing has been
here in Orlando. While it has been a pretty cold winter so far by Florida standards the bass fishing
has been very steady with plenty of 30 fish days to keep my clients busy on Lake Toho. I have
been running my guide trips on Lake Toho every day and while a majority of other guides are
going to other lakes for various reasons I have not had a reason to come off of Lake Toho. I am

recommending live bait for most of my trips right now as this is the time of year that live bait out
produces artificial lures for numbers and size of bass.

Central Florida Bass Fishing November - December Report 2007-

The bass fishing is on fire for my clients here in Orlando with catches of up to 30 fish on 6 hour
trips. The weather and water temps are ahead of schedule and have turned the bass bite on here
at Lake Toho. Starting early and being in the right place at the right time is key for best results. Live
bait right now is producing the best results for my clients but the combo trips of Live bait then
artificial lure fishing in the afternoon has been great as the weather after 10:00 a.m. is beautiful.

October is when the excitement begins for our Fall bass fishing season here in Orlando
Florida as the first cold fronts of the year start to roll down from Canada Southbound. Like
most of the Country it has been a warm Summer here in Orlando keeping the bass to very

short feeding times in the early morning and then again in the evening. This should take a

drastic turn for the better once we get into October and water temperatures begin to slowly

fall. If you have not experienced the rush of seeing hundreds of bass feeding on the surface
then you will want to be here this Fall. The weather will be great and the bass fishing should

be off the hook so give me a call and make your plans to get into some great Fall bass
fishing here in Orlando!

Central Florida Bass Fishing Report June - August 2007

The Summer Season is upon us and my clients have been having a great time during their

trips. As is typical for Summer bass fishing the morning bite has been the most productive
with the topwater bite being very aggressive for about the first two hours. After that we are

using sub-surface lures and slowing down the presentations to get strikes. Average catches
for the artificial trips is all over the board as the weather seems to change daily. The live

bait trips are also doing well and have been accounting for some of my clients better catches.

Right now I am recommending 6 hours for my trips as this generally is the most productive
length of time to be on the water. The weather actually has been rather mild with morning
temps running 73-75 and then the highs around 91-94. If you would like to experience some

great Summertime bass fishing here in Orlando feel free to give me a call and set up a trip.

Central Florida Bass Fishing Report  April  - May 2007
T
he last two months has been great on Lake Toho as the bass fishing continues to be very
impressive with clients catching numerous bass up to 9lbs with live bait and quite a few
bass coming on artificials up to 7lbs. Average catches for my clients has been 15-20 bass
per 6 hour trips with the occassional catch up to 30. The evening trips have been doing very
well with catches around 10 - 15 in 3 hours with the topwater bite picking up and adding to
the excitement. The water temps on Lake Toho are staying in the 70's and water clarity might
be the best I've seen it at this time of the year in quite some time. The weather here in Orlando
had started off the month rather hot but has returned to normal with the highs around 80
.

Central Florida Bass Fishing Report March 2007
I
t's been another great month here in Orlando as the fishing on Lake Toho continues to be on
fire. First I finished 21st in the Bassmaster Tour stop here on the Kissimme Chain out of 195

boats. Then the fish moved from their spawning areas to deeper water as the air temperatures
have been much warmer but the fishing has remained excellent. High winds have been the
biggest challenge so far this month and will probably continue to blow through April. The artificial
bite definitely picked up as the fish are biting consistently thoughout the day and this months big
fish on artificials is now at 9lbs. The bass have been feeding very aggressively on live bait in
the mornings and slowing down as we get into the later hours of the day. Look for April to be a
great month as we move into our Summer season.

January - February 2007

What I did during my Winter Bass Guide Season!!!!!!!! As I have been booked solid through March I
have not updated my fishing reports page so this will cover January and February. What a first
two months of the year this has been! Every day has been something new as we have put quite
a few big bass in the boat and have had some get away as clients have gotten a crash course on
shallow water bass fishing and got SCHOOLED by some big fish! The weather has been for the most
part mild allowing for some really consistent fishing and every client having that opportunity at
a trophy bass. The bigger bass are still being caught on live bait but this is somewhat typical this
time of year and unfortunately my clients that have not chosen live bait have missed out as the big
fish so far for artificial lures has been 7lbs. A nice fish for sure, but not a trophy. If you are going
to be in the Orlando area in the upcoming months and would like to find out what Florida Big Bass
Fishing is all about give me a call!
