Thank you so much for providing a great trip to my client and myself on 1-9-11. It was great to get a big bass so early in the year, at least for me, as are lakes are iced over here in Illinois. I would highly recommend Steve to anyone who wishes to show a client a good time. Steve was very patient with my client who has limited fishing experience and also with me as I normally fish artificial baits and on our day we used live bait. Due to Steve’s expertise it is not take long for us to get in the groove. The conditions were not the best due to cold fronts moving in and out but with Steve’s knowledge of the lake we fished we managed numerous bass in the boat and the second largest LMB that I ever caught. Steve again thank you for your professionalism it paid dividends in regards to showing my client a great day on the water.

Wanted to thank you again for the great trip this past Tuesday (5/4). Margaret and I just got back home Sunday. The fishing was by far my highlight of the trip to Orlando. (Despite my less than perfect skills with a baitcasting setup !) In spite of "the one that got away" I came away a much more educated fisherman. I even caught a few nice ones back at our resort using a worm !

Fishing at Toho was a completely different experience than targeting the Largemouth we usually fish for here on the West Coast. The combination of the unique behavior of the Florida fish, the unique attributes of the lake itself coupled with the awesome weather made for an exciting day on the water. I eagerly anticipate the next time I have the opportunity to fish in Orlando again, and while that seven pounder is my best Florida bass for now I know that bigger fish await in Toho. The Bass in Lake Toho are famous for their quality as well as being notoriously tricky to catch but with Steve Boyd as our guide we had a great day on the lake. He has intimate knowledge of the lake and is able to adapt quickly to give anglers the best opportunity to catch fish, in fact he guarantees it.

With the Sun rising we landed our first bass, albeit it was a peanut (your words), it was still a bass and several more followed. Thank you for a great Day on the water! 2 - 7+ pound fish really made the day for me. Besides the fishing, the highlights of the day for me was when Kevin Van dam pulled up on our spot and started fishing. It was great to see all of the pros looking at what you were doing because they respected the knowledge and time you have on the water. Kevin went on to win the tournament fishing structure just like what we were fishing.

I will always remember my first time fishing lake Toho and I look forward to fishing it again. The Lessons you taught me about living in the moment and thinking positively will make me a better angler for the rest of my life.

            I thought I would take a minute to let you know
how much I enjoyed my trip a few days ago! This was my
fourth trip to Lake Toho and although my previous guides
were nice the big fish just never seemed to come for me
as my biggest on those trips was only 4lbs. On this trip to
Orlando not only did I catch a big fish I enjoyed some great
conversation which really made the day enjoyable.

I have always heard of the big fish on Lake Toho but now
I can talk about what those monsters feel like when they
are stripping drag from the rod! It's nice to know that the
next time I come to Florida I will be able to say my biggest
bass ever is a 9lb giant! I still can't get over how big that
fish was in my hands!

You will be hearing from me in the future when I come back
to Orlando as I think I have found the right guide to put me
on the BIG ONES!

Just got back to Colorado Springs and wanted to thank you
for a FANTASTIC day on the water.
 
Both my wife and I really enjoyed our bass fishing trip to
Orlando…weather was great and the bass fishing was
awesome!  It was our first experience using a bass fishing
guide and I must say, you exceeded our expectations.  Not
only did we have a great time fishing with excellent gear but
we learned a great deal about bass fishing as well.  We
appreciated the conversation…the day flew by way to fast!
Next time, we’ll make it 6 dozen shiners!  I also wanted to
thank you for making my wife feel very comfortable through
out the day. I am still laughing, thinking about her telling you
she didn’t feel anything even after your second plea for her to
set the hook. It made the experience that much better.
  
After thinking about it, we had to have been around 24 bass
for the day and I can only recall 1 fish that probably weighed
less than 2lbs.  Thanks for a great day!
  
That school of Bass busting the surface for shad was an
experience all by itself…something I’ll never forget.
  
Next year, there will be three of us…as both boys want to
go bass fishing with you!  Can’t wait to see there faces as
they land quality sized fish….fish after fish!  How early do you

 On our last day in Orlando, we took our boys bass fishing and we caught bass all day long, (in the middle of the
Winter, following a harsh cold front!) Steve Boyd is  the guide I hired to take our family out for some Florida
Bass Fishing.  To give you an idea of what an awesome experience it was.  Steve took us to a 5,500 acre
lake that was full of largemouth bass willing to eat a Shiner nearly on every cast, (we didn't catch one every
cast, but we could have.)  Steve's understanding of structure and bass movement was impressive as he had
us around bass all day.  While Steve might have liked us to catch a Florida monster, it was important to us
that our boys were able to catch some fish, and catch fish they did, it was a blast.  What sets Steve apart from
other guides that I have known and hired is that his temperament is well suited to working with anglers of all
abilities.  He is set up to take people out who are into town for Disney World and are looking for a break from
all of the Goofyness.

         Now that I'm settled and back at work, I thought I would take the time to tell you how much I appreciate
the time we spent together, and to thank you for two of the best days of "school," bass school that is, I've ever
had.

Many might think that the test of a good bass fishing guide is based on his results. How many fish does he catch?
True. But in my mind, the real heart of a guide can be measured most fully when the fish aren't biting. And any
fisherman worth his salt knows there are days when the fish don't cooperate, no matter what the fisherman does.
We fished in some tough conditions...August in Florida...artificial lures only. Need I say anything else? Water
temps approaching 90 degrees. Air temps in the mid nineties. Too much wind. Not enough wind. No cloud cover.
Murky water caused by previous storms...the list goes on.

It's these types of conditions that puts a fishing guide through his paces. You pulled no punches. You told me it

would be tough. With 7 years of club tournament experience, and a lifetime love affair with bass fishing, I already
knew it wouldn't be easy. And it wasn't. But you took it in stride and worked your tail off to put us on fish. Yes, we put
some fish in the boat. They weren't huge. No, it wasn't a 40 or 60 fish day. But did we have fun? You bet we did.

These are the actions and behaviors you demonstrated under pressure and in tough conditions:

1. Always on time to pick me up...to the minute!

2. Always courteous and respectful.

3. Always honest and forthright in setting expectations.

4. Always explained the decisions you made with respect to lure choices and taking the boat to another location.

5. Always trying new presentations to solicit bites and develop a pattern.

6. Always saving the best casting locations for me.

6. Since I was an experienced bass fisherman, you had the uncanny ability to professionally and harmoniously 
suggest ways to improve my ability without insulting my experience.

7. Finally, your personality and mine melded well together. We joked, cut up a little on each other, and had a great
time. At times it felt as if we fished together all the time.

Steve, you worked your butt off and I appreciate it. Most importantly, I learned a lot about a few techniques I don't
use much up here in West Virginia...techniques I needed more confidence in. And you know how important a role 
confidence plays in fishing successfully. That, in and of itself, made me a better angler and was well worth the price.
You deliver what you promise. I hope that we can fish together again.

         We had a great time fishing with you! Anytime your child
would compare fishing with you Steve with going to Walt
Disney you must be doing something right. 

We were sitting at the dinner table one night during our vacation
with the family we were sharing our vacation with and the other
Dad asked all the kids (6 of them) at the table what they had
enjoyed the most so far.  (After 1 four hour trip fishing with Steve
with the two oldest boys and the fathers the boys were 7 & 8,an
afternoon at the pool, 1 day at Islands of Adventure, and 1 day at
Magic Kingdom) my son Jimmy without any hesitation blurted out
fishing with Steve, when are we going back?

The parents at the table almost fell over even myself who loves
fishing could not believe a 7 year old would rather go fishing with
you than go to Disney.  You spoke to me about your search for
possible sponsorships.  Well let me tell you your impact on Jimmy
drove me to spend over $1000 US at Bass Pro Shops in Orlando in
one week and if they question you I can forward the receipts.  

Companies looking to sponsor you need to hear about stories like
this so they can understand the impact that you have on the
customers even if they are 7 years old they will be customers now
and for the next 60+ years.  All I can say is as an owner of my own
business I hope to have ambassadors like yourself out there building
